Can You Compost Flour?

Flour Compost

Yes, flour can be used as composting ingredients. It would be considered a brown composting ingredient (source of carbon). It should be okay to use even if the flour condition is close to rancid.

Please note that the flour may attract unwanted pests (e.g weevils) and rodents to the compost pile so make sure to mix it in well. If the flour is infested with weevils then consider freezing the bag of flour first before it’s mixed into the compost.
