Can You Compost Dryer Lint?

Dryer Lint Compost

Yes, dryer lint can be used but it largely depends on what you have been drying. Dryer lint would be considered a brown compost matter (source of carbon).

Lint is especially the short fiber that’s separated from the surface of clothes and other fabric materials. Dryer lint can be used in compost as long as the material is made from natural fiber (e.g. 100% cotton). You should not use dryer lint that contains synthetic fiber as they won’t break down.
