Can You Compost Disposable Diapers?

Diaper Compost

No, disposable diapers should not be used in the compost pile. Most disposable diapers use plastic for the moisture-proof outer layer.

These days, you may come across brands that offer bio-degradable diapers. These can be used as composting material but aren’t recommended for most compost piles maintained at home. It would require the correct compost setup for the diapers to break down and even then it might take over a year for the bio-degradable diapers to break down.
