Can You Compost Cotton Clothing?

Cotton Clothes Compost

Yes, cotton clothing can be used as compost material but only if the fabric is made of 100% cotton. Clothing made from cotton would be considered a brown compost matter (source of carbon).

Check the cotton clothes thoroughly before they are dumped into the compost heap. Make sure you remove any materials made of synthetic fiber like the clothes size tag. You can speed up the composting process by shredding the clothes into smaller pieces.
