Can You Compost Wine Corks?

Do you love drinking wine? Well, good news! Wine corks can be used as compost materials. They would be considered a brown compost matter (source of carbon).

Make sure the corks are made of organic material before they are buried into the compost pile. These days, some winemakers may use corks made of synthetic material. It’s also a good idea to grind up the corks first in order to speed up the decomposition process.
