Can You Compost a Christmas Tree?

Yes, Christmas trees can be composted but only the natural kind. The Christmas tree branches would add a good amount of green compost material (source of nitrogen). For obvious reasons, artificial trees should not be used since they are made of synthetic material.

Trim the Christmas tree branches down into smaller pieces before they are buried into the compost pile. You can even use the branches as mulch.
